What's everyone up to right now?

Transferring the guts of a Northwood P4 system from an old cheap case to a Lian Li aluminum case. This is the actual planned htpc / dnla server, the other is just a prototype for testing and learning about the technology (it's a gift, with a subscription to Playon, for my TV series loving sister). I pulled the fan assembly off the heatsink to clean, and it's a good thing I did - it was really gross. Cleaned the fan blades with qtips and rubbing alcohol so it's like new now. Transferred the power supply. Next I need to install the motherboard I pulled from the old case.

Not feeling like firing up the prototype box, though it's ready for its first power on test. Maybe later; let my self-confidence gel a little.

Another day, another poker win. Woo hoo.

Pretty easy day at school considering it is a day before winter break. It's great being seen as their grand parent rather than as their parent's generation.

Also got a tray of seeds planted while I played my game. I always multi-task during games but usually on line. This time I set the laptop on a table out in the driveway, pulled a wheelbarrow of soil and a couple of bags of seeds a friend gave me in San Diego. The little buggers were already sprouting in their baggy. So glad to get some into soil. Boophones and a Boophone Belladona cross.

Creepy dude at the subway station came out of nowhere and came at me saying "merry christmas" and had his hand out for a handshake. I just ignored him and walked the other way and and heard him throwing insults at me. Didn't help that he was black. Probably thinks I'm some racist bastard.

Office holiday party. Everyone brings a gift and then we play a dice game (with gift stealing) to divvy up the loot. I'm going home with $20 cash, a Starbucks gift card, and two bottles of hooch. Merry fucking Xmas to me.

Laundry gets its own day? I must not recognize that one. My laundry is still in two piles. Clean but unsorted and dirty unsorted. Happy laundry day. (Maybe we used to celebrate this but I think we lapsed.)
