There was a time when spices were a thing in Europe. Brought at a nice price OFC.

Ah feeling like just good. The dock pylled my tendon into place, Pain meds are awesome. I thought only heroin did that!

All this talk about spices rattled some long forgotten memories...

For some cooky weird reason, when someone made the subtitles for Dune, in Portuguese, from Brazil (what we actual portuguese call brazillian), they translated "spice melange" to "especiaria tempero".

Well..... "tempero" is a word that means seasoning.
As you all know, Melange is "a "mixture" or "medley"... if you make a mixture of herbs, you can come to have a seasoning, I guess...
But, in Dune, melange is the name of the spice itself. It's a fictional spice and a fictional name. Hence no translation should be required. "Especiaria melange" would do nicely and that's what you'll find in pt-pt subtitles.

Good thing someone put it right on the wiki.
