What really pisses of the Kiwis is that lots of people think it's copied from the Austalian one.

Just did the practice questions for chapter 1 of my first bookkeeping textbook.
Got it mostly right, yay!
Got tricked by some badly worded questions about stakeholders...
And I put down profit as an asset rather than capital. Don't quite understand that yet. Apart from that, I got it all right based on what I learnt in my previous qualifications. Yay!

Money is capital.
Physical items are assets.
Does that make sense?

Sure. But money in the bank, and money owed, are assets too. But I can see how profit isn't an asset, because it's dependent on the difference in figures at particular points. I'm just not sure what makes that capital. It wouldn't be put in the accounting equation...
So far capital is money put in, minus money taken out of the business. Clearly there's much more to it than that, but the book hasn't gone into detail yet! So it's weird they asked me that.

So... Thoughts on Voyager and Enterprise?
I'm pretty much with SFDebris, Viyager started out trying to rplicate TNG, at a point where TNG was stale, and while later there were some good ideas they either didn't know what to do with them or like with 7 were run into the ground. And I do like his theory about Janeway, ie somewhere about seasin 4 she cracked from the pressure and thats why she became increasingly erratic.
Enterprise's only saving grace is that the Abrams films are worse.

Enterprise. Could have been so cool if they had made a real prequel in a time where the technology is primitive and unreliable. A dirty, dangerous Star Trek.
But no, they had to do some kind of unimaginative Voyager/TNG light.

If the company is limited, profit belongs to the shareholders, so any retained profits are considered capital investments by them to facilitate running the business

They half arsed that, for example they included ceramic bull plating, but still used it as if it were energy based shields from the other shows, leading to stupid moments like Reid shouiting "hull plating off line" when they were rescuing Klaaaang, which if true should have seen the crew dying of anoxia and floating off into space. Also they had a holodeck epusoe seven epusodes in! Laziness of the worst stripe.

The law should have been: No translators, no holo-decks, no transporter beams, Period. Can you imagine?
But then they would have been forced to write new and original stories...
