One more job interview. Can't have too many job interviews!

Great!
I thought your job was looking after kids now or something
I'm gathering my strength to take doggy out for a walk soon. It's really hot (muggy and humid) so I can't take her far before we're both ready to collapse.

We mostly outsource that now
That was a very good preliminary (phone) job interview. I'd say of all the ones I had so far, it ranks top.

Great, nicely done
I'm trying to organise some voluntary bookkeeping work, but I've found out I need to okay about 315 pounds a year for the insurance and money laundering requirements. Trying to figure out how we could afford it. I'd be doing it for a charity for now, so I wouldn't feel right asking them.

On a serious note, I love how Portuguese sounds. I used to watch the Brasileirao on GOL TV quite a bit. I suppose BRA and POR speak the language differently, though.
From what I gather, Brazilians are a lot less formal and a lot less worried about their grammar being correct. And of course you're going to have the dialectical differences that always spring up when two separate areas with different influences speak the same language over a period of hundreds of years.

I've wondered actually, does the English word "Romantic" mean what it means because of how beautiful the languages sound, or are the languages called "Romance" because they sound beautiful? It's like a chicken or egg situation.
I've been watching these Brazilian YouTubers (the duo in the gifs I've been using, my Brazilian ex got me into them and I've been hooked)

I don't know much Portuguese at all, but they're so visual and crazy that I still find them hilarious to watch.
@Clueless Morgan - Why you no can say "Nao"? Just do it, haha
Romance in English means, essentially, "of or following the Roman style". It was first applied to the cultures which sprung up as direct descendants of Rome (so French, Italian, Iberian and Romanian among others). But why it became associated with love was because of the medieval genre of courtly stories which began in France, which were given the name "romances". Unlike their predecessors, the chansons de geste these works dealt with love, especially courtly love, in great detail and thus romance also became associated with courting, and love in general over time.
Edit: interesting aside, science fiction in its early days was often called "scientific romance" most notably by HG Wells.
