RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Memorial was something I didn't want to do. I didn't want to face the heartbreaking reality that this cool kid, of these really good people, all of whom I just met recently, died. Parents lost their only child at the age of 22. It breaks my heart and infuriates me at the same time. I have picked up some closure.

There's never going to be any sense to make out of it. I think we both realize this, but it doesn't stop you from trying, or wishing that life was fair and just.
It isn't.
Perhaps this is one reason why people seek solace in faith. I don't know, and right now I would have a hard time criticizing someone for doing so. It's just fucked up.
I talked with my friend Brad after the memorial and at one point he held out his hands like he was holding something "What do I do with this? What does anyone do?". The unseen object of course was the death of one's child. I didn't have any answers. I doubt anyone else does either.
I can't imagine what his parents are going to do. I don't know how I can help.

We're now at a Mexican seafood restaurant near my house to boost our mood with some camarones
I'm so sorry for you both, and for the parents I can't imagine the horror of all this.
You're right, people look for answers. They want a reason, or at least some sort of action they can take. Sometimes there is none, but that's little consolation.
All I could say is to be there for the parents, allow them to talk about it even if there's nothing you can do except listen.

That would be at my house, though the weed is more likely to be found in dessert.

ID2, worst fucking movie I have ever seen!
PS. Didn't smuggle a diet coke, took a cider instead! I feel like sueing the cinemas for pain and suffering.
Too bad. I loved ID in a special way that is hard to describe. How bad is it?
You know those really bad B graders where you don't care if the characters live or die?
Well, let's just say I wanted everyone to die so it can hurry up and finish so I can go home and do nothing.

I wonder if Will Smith read the script and thought? Wesley Snipes, Blade? Nah, I'll pass.

Could be - bad scriptwriting, that's hard to overcome. Not having Randy Quaid in it wasn't enough.

Come on, that drunk vietnam vet rediscovering his heroic dignity by self-sacrifice performance was completely authentic!
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
