Kitty and I were at the memorial for my friend's son who died in an accident a week ago. It went about how you might expect.

We're now at a Mexican seafood restaurant near my house to boost our mood with some camarones

Had to work what was supposed to be the first day of my fucking vacation!

Working tomorrow too. Ugh.

Drunk. Herp derp.

I was in a church today for the first time in 394 days. I know that because the last time I was in a church was for my grandfather's funeral, on June 4, 2015. (Almost said 393, but: leap year.)

Today it was a wedding. That's my rule: funerals and weddings.

During communion while everyone else was in line to receive the consecrated host I made up captions for the murals on the ceilings.

1. The baby jesus in Mary's arms, glowing, surrounded by wise men
"Doctor! My baby is radioactive! Strike him with your staff!"

2. A man, fallen to one knee, presenting jesus with scroll-like objects
"I have so many Churros I fell down! Here, take them!"

3. Jesus and john the baptist standing in the river, half-dressed, glowing
"Wait wait... The oral sex will have to wait; there's a ufo shining its headlights on us!"

4. Jesus, sitting on a rock surrounded by enraptured sycophants (ps I become even more erudite/loquacious when drunk) pointing to the heavens
"OH MY GOD WHAT IS THAT UP THERE?! Hahahahahaha made you look."

So, anyway. Church = bad. Open bar = good. Wedding = ... meh. But, good for them. When I find that right girl I'll probably get married, if only for my parents' sake: they'll want it. But no catholic mass. Not a bloody chance.
