The biscuits Bella posted a pic of are called rich tea biscuits. They are sweet but quite brittle, until you dunk them in a cup of tea, when they go soft.

Yeah the first biscuit Bella showed you looks more like a Ritz cracker than anything else we have generally available - though you can find Rich Tea Biscuits on our side too if you look hard enough. The only question for me is why you'd want to. They're not the best dipper around, unless you grow up with them I'm guessing. But I grew up on Mother's brand oat cookies, so what do I know? I hardly put any sugar in my tea any more so I like a sweeter cookie with it. Right now Trader Joe's new mango Jojo's have my devotion.

And all of these are called "biscoito":

The cookie at the very top of the picture and toward the center with the almonds showing is the only one of these I'd call a biscotti from the Italian for the twice-baked, almond based cookie.

Okay, you gotta try this "cake":



You make it in layers.
Ingredients:
- Rich tea (cookies, biscuits, crackers, "bolacha maria", "galleta maria", etc...)
- coffee
- whipped cream

- dip the biscuits in warm coffee, just for a second. If you leave them under for too long, they become soft and floppy.
- place the biscuit o the destination. Repeat until you get a nice layer of biscuits.
- cover that with a thin layer of cream.
- Create new layer of coffee dipped biscuits.
- Cover that with more cream.
- Keep going until you have some 6 or 7 layers.
- Cover the whole thing with lots of cream.
- top it off with crumbled biscuits (some are bound to get broken along the way, so use those)

Ready to serve!
No baking required... probably my favorite cake.

I think I feel a heart attack coming on just looking at that .. but what a way to go. I might just have to try that. Will half and half do in place of cream?

I don't know what half and half is... but... I'd go with cream... whipped cream:

No... well... you need to add sugar to make it whip properly... but not too much.
The coffee in the biscuits counters the cream's sweetness quite well.
