What's everyone up to right now?

Just got back from a nice jog in the park.

They're similar in that they both contain raisins and various other kinds of dried fruit, but the texture is somewhat different.  Plum puddings that I've had tend to have a looser, more crumbly texture.  Christmas cakes are pretty solid and heavy, and are usually sliced and served cold.  Some of them have an icing on top, but I prefer it plain.

Having a vegetarian/vegan lunch - curry lentil soup and a kale & quinoa salad with vinaigrette and a half slice of sourdough.

Not a vegetaria, just a fat guy trying to make better food choices.

My wife steams a persimmon pudding for xmas that is so good.  Definitely more like cake than pudding as I grew up thinking of it.  When her mother was around she served it with hard sauce (i.e., pure butter with some sugar added).  Nowadays we go with a little whipped cream, maybe with some brandy in it.

Persimmon pudding sounds fascinating -- I've only eaten them raw. If I see some persimmons on sale I may give it a go.

On holiday this week. Worked a bit on a renovation project, and currently killing time before heading out to Monday afternoon clarinet lesson. Probably grab coffee and a snack on the way home, as it'll take several hours to cook the meat loaf I have planned for this evening.
