I just got back from a walk. While I was out, two people stopped me to hand out pamphlets and rosaries and talk to me about god. When they found out I was an atheist, the first thing I heard was the watch-maker argument. Just wow. Come up with something new already. Of course when I finished off the argument for them and named the argument, they looked absolutely shocked that I could possibly have known that. They just didn't know where to go from there, since I was still an atheist after hearing that one.

"Adulthood is like looking both ways before you cross the road, and then getting hit by an airplane" - sarcasm_only
"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie

Just got off the phone with my wife, who was running down for me the Thanksgiving menu she plans to prepare. True to form, her enthusiasm wildly exceeds what is needed. You'd think we were hosting Henry VIII and his full retinue.
It's just going to be the two of us and our dog.
For once, I'm going to keep my mouth shut and let her succumb to her manic tendencies -- because Thanksgiving leftovers for days! The dog has agreed to keep her mouth shut, too.

What's the watch maker argument?
It's a half-assed argument for intelligent design made by William Paley that is used far too often. It fails at its original premise like most apologetics do.

What's the watch maker argument?
Put simply, it argues that things that look designed, must be designed and imply a designer (much like the existence of a watch implies the existence of a watchmaker).

Ehh, puppy waffles are overrated tbh. Too much fur to pick out from your teeth afterward.
