I'm wrapping my head around the idea of simplifying the first order PDE aux+buy+cu=f(x,y) (where u=u(x,y); a^2+b^2>0) into the simpler form of aux(x,y)+ cu(x,y)=f(x,y) via a change of variables (coordinates).
