LOL, had to run some errands and such and just before I left I adjusted the thermostat to have fan on continuous.
Well, I don't eff with the thermostat very often and managed to mung it up. Fan was run on continuous when I returned, but ooops, went from 'cool' to 'heat'.
Fortunately, it didn't have to run the furnace much at all, but returning home to 80 degrees indoors was quite a jolt, 2 week lead time for AC repairs in this area right now during heat wave. Was relieved to have it be operator error . . .
And EABUC#2 was actually thrilled with the goof, it was getting close to his comfort range.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Been in all day. Had to be up early for a furnace/AC service call (annual maintenance). Once that was done, I knocked off a couple of items on my "things to cook this week" list by starting a batch of bread and baking 3 dozen huge gingersnaps.
We had a huge downpour around noon, so I was unable to weed the garden as I had intended. Instead, I finished removing and discarded a piece of old flooring so that I can install new stuff.
Right now I'm keeping an eye on the weather and some list server messages. Plan for tonight was to go out to an observatory to do some stargazing, but the forecast is for cloudy skies and likely some more rain.  If the observing session is called off (very likely at this point), I'm going out somewhere for something.

Eating a couple fish tacos and a chicken tamal. Back from a neighborhood auto show. Only about 12 cars, but an interesting mix. Not just the cliched '57 Chevys, but a mid 80's Porsche 928 and a Corvette of similar era---stuff I can relate to, having been in my tweens or so during that era.

I'm watching the Star Trek episode "Assignment Earth." I really enjoy Gary Seven' s commentary about humanity during this episode.

Uh-oh. I've been doing it wrong for nearly 42 years! *hangs head in shame*
Went for a drive and -almost- found the observatory; neglected to bring a map and tried to rely on (misunderstood) directions. Google Maps has now enlightened me: Instead of going east down the road to the University agricultural research centre, I should have turned west down the road directly across from it and then taken a couple more zigs and zags westward. Nice drive regardless.
I stopped for a burger and coffee on the way home, as well as picking up some bubble bath and a chocolate bar.
When I got home, had an e-mail notice that the event had been cancelled due to weather so I didn't miss anything. They're going to try to reschedule for early August -- probably because virtually the entire astronomy club is going to the States to see the eclipse on the 21st.
Including me.

It's very over-rated. There are many days that I do not feel like adulting. Like every day.

It's pretty much the same stuff that was on the "how to child" manual, but now you get permission to earn money... And spend it.
