Getting the scoop on Phillip Seymour Hoffman's death.

What do you plan to use it for? Anxiety, depression ... ?

Go enter those grades! Or better yet, slack off till you absolutely cannot afford to put it off anymore, you'll work so much quicker. Timesaver Big Grin.

I find this is how I work best. I usually enter grades the class period before I have to print them and hand them out.

Me too. Once I went to see my teacher (was in high school) because I had a question and there was a test in that class in like 20 minutes. He was making the test and had to hide it from me. Once in uni my prof couldn't come to class because he stayed up the entire night writing proposals that were due that day. He was very apologetic.

Glad to know I'm not the only one guilty of this. I tend to be this way about folding and putting away my clean laundry as well.

Scruffy left home a couple of hours ago, so I donned my apron and thought I would surprise him by cleaning. Oh, the things I do for love.. Big Grin
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

No, well, not really. I'm prescribed Adderall and it seems that at the end of the day, I feel a little detached, not depressed or anxious, more or less lacking in the amount of effort I'm willing to put in to expressing emotion. I also get a real short fuse. I was on a different forum, and heard that boosting serotonin levels using this HTP-5 was helpful to some people that were feeling the same side effects.

Hm. The thing about neuro drugs is that if it isn't broken, don't mess with it, because a lot of the drugs we have no real idea of what they do. SSRIs for example, when used for anxiety only kicks in behaviourally after about a month of consistent dosing. But it increases synaptic serotonin within hours after administration. So we don't really know what is causing the behavioural change, and most of the brain drugs have unpleasant side effects, like the ones you're experiencing from adderall. I'm (needless to say) unqualified to give medical advice but I think if you want to reduce side effects, it's better to stick with less drugs rather than more drugs. I would definitely ask your doc though.

I did one google search and found this: http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplement...Name=5-HTP

Quote:Don’t use 5-HTP until more is known. 5-HTP might be UNSAFE. Some people who have taken it have come down with eosinophilia-myalgia syndrome (EMS), a serious condition involving extreme muscle tenderness (myalgia) and blood abnormalities (eosinophilia). Some people think the EMS might be caused by an accidental ingredient (contaminant) in some 5-HTP products. But there is not enough scientific evidence to know if EMS is caused by 5-HTP, a contaminant, or some other factor. Until more is known, avoid taking 5-HTP.

Turns out it's a supplement instead of a drug. Depending on the legislation in the US, it[/quote] means it is less regulated and been through less tests than drugs and also that people generally know less about it. Definitely ask your doc.

Hope it works for you. Smile

I know it sounds weird, but I usually drink about 4 glasses of milk a day. If I don't, I feel totally off. Maybe I have a weird deficiency.
