Shopping...
I just bought shorts, a skirt and a small bag
"Alone is what I have. Alone protects me."

It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day."

Eating a breakfast of kimchi. This is another new brand. It's more sweet than hot. I preferred the hot brand.

I'm done for the day. I stopped in South Carolina. Sampling some tea and having a salad.

Huh. Doesn't rhyming work by pronunciation rather than by spelling?

Yeah just because it doesn't have the same silly bulls * doesn't mean it isn't rhyme tastic.

Quote: Prince George: Well, I must say, Bladder, that was damn clever!
Blackadder: Yes, another great Christmas tradition: explaining the rules eight times to the Thicky Twins. The round hasn't in fact started yet. It's got to be a specific book. For instance, if it was The Bible, I would go like that [holding up two fingers] to indicate that there are two syllables in it...
Prince George: Two what?
Blacadder: Two syllables.
Prince George: Two silly bulls? I don't think so, Blackadder -- not in The Bible. I can remember a fatted calf, but, as I recall, that was quite a sensible animal. Oh, ah! It's it, um, er, Noah's Ark, with the, er, two pigs, two ants, and two silly bulls? Is that it?
Blackadder: Two syllables.
Prince George: What?
Blackadder: Look, we’re getting confused; let’s start again, shall we?
Prince George: No, let’s not, Blackadder. I think the whole game’s getting a bit sylla, to be honest. How about a nice Christmas story instead?

Causing havoc at my desk. I've done a bunch of errands and assorted paper-shuffling today (made appointment for winter/summer tire switch-over, dropped off an insurance form, pinned a receipt to my bulletin board, found my subscription renewal form for next season of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, contemplated writing a high school acquaintance whose e-mail address is on a scrap of paper on the printer tray, considered continuing work on a half-transcribed clarinet part, wrote memo to pick up a gadget at the music store)...
...and in the middle of all this, when picking up a set of headphones to move them out of the way, I dunked my MP3 player in a cup of cold tea. It's drying out on a Kleenex, and hopefully will still work next time I turn it on.
Fortunately it's almost time to leave for Wednesday night band practice. Hanging out in a room with half a dozen trumpet players in the row directly behind me -- what could possibly go wrong?

Building a block wall. I'm really happy that my 31-year old son can do the backbreaking parts. So far we've destroyed the old wall and laid out about 50 feet of the new wall. About 50 feet to go. I'm not doing any more of this when we're done. My back, feet and hands are toast after my lifetime of work. I'll hire it done for the back yard.
