The tax project that’s dominated my waking hours for the past two weeks is finally done, and my reaction:
All I need to do now is convert what I did to a PDF (because I devoted 15 days of my time to this thing and I’ll be damned if I don’t have a copy somewhere!) and collect them in an easy format (stapling would seem the obvious measure, but it’s huge enough that I seriously wonder if that would work.
Final score: Four Coppolas out of an allowance of six. (After this quote from Coppola I posted in my first post on the subject: "There'll be six times you'll want to kill yourself. Don't worry about it till the seventh.")

As I was writing this a sortie of 8 Blackhawk helicopters flew over my house. Cool.
RUN! Like that would help.
One place I used to work, one of the guys served in the US Air Force in Viet Nam. When a bomber came back from a mission, he was responsible for reloading the bomb rack. He cranked the lever, and a 500 pound bomb fell out, onto the ground. He turned to run, and his sergeant just laughed, and said, "You can't outrun that!"

Just finished sampling a Nanaimo bar for coffee break at work (my daughter has a propensity for causing homemade noms to mysteriously appear in the middle of the night, to the mutual benefit of the household).
Plotting what my next gardening and landscaping moves will be, because spring has finally gotten to Winnipeg. I suspect that I'll be *ouch* transplanting a rose bush from the front yard to the back, as it's not thriving in its current location and is right where I want to put a flagstone path.

Breakfast of kimchi and rice. I'm almost out of kimchi. Maybe I'll make another trip to the store on Friday.

Back from a run to PT that almost didn't happen due to a detour, but once I got to the transit stand (my normal stop was not available), I actually got to my destination quicker than I ever had from said transit stand. The way back, however, saw me get extremely lost. Both finding the transit stand and finding the bookstore, or rather the elevator to it, so I abandoned that. No big.

I finally made it home after 3 weeks on the road. My dog was happy to see me. Presently enjoying some Four Roses Kentucky bourbon and unwinding.

Jor, I'm doing a major upgrade this xmas ...
One thing I've learnt is to not get excited too early ..Everything may change by then.
Lots of cool developments coming... We've got intel dektop cpus now with 12? 16? cores.
Fuck I'm still on 4 (quadcore) and I only upgraded 2-3 years ago!
Memory bandwidth has gone leaps and bounds (as you know)
