RE: What's everyone up to right now?

Recently, I got a message that the DMV wanted me to renew my license. Today, we drove to the DMV in Des Plaines, and we got to see the sights, from the world's most pointless speed limit sign, to a bar that's literally just called The Bar, and, when I got there, I found out that it was my State ID that needed to be renewed. And since the ID was redundant after I got my driver's license, we decided to just let that lapse.
And, also, about that "most pointless speed limit sign," there's a brief curve in Oakton Street where
the speed limit increases to 40 mph. Just before you pass it, you see another speed limit sign reading
"Speed Limit 35." If there was another intersection between the two, then there's a chance that other cars wouldn't have seen the first. But there isn't. Just a stretch of road splitting a forest preserve in hald.
And I just discovered on the way back that there's
another sign reading 40 MPH. A little further down the road, and there's no other road between the two for a crossing? There's another speed limit sign. What does it say? "
Speed Limit 40" Yes, two Speed limit signs with the same number on the same stretch of road.
That may just be funny to me and only me, but there you go.
Also, there was a sale at Guitar Center and Dad printed out a coupon for me. And I ended up getting an oak Cowbell beater for my Diddley Bow, so I could play it in the traditional (Eddie "One String" Jones) way. It's kind of soft, and the string cuts into the oak wood, but at least it's maintaining structural activity. And due to sales for Timber Tones Jazz Tones, Clayton Exotic Black Jazz Horn, Fender Tru-Shell 551 XH, and V-Picks Euro picks, I think I'll be more or less set for picks (particularly the designer types; I've already got enough Ultex Jazz IIIs to fill a small Cassette-sized tin) for a long time.
