Dad and I went on our usual Saturday routine, going to Superdawg, the library, and Half-Price Books (I got the Aeneid, Frank: the true story that inspired the movie, and Diary of a Wimpy Kid 2). Things were difficult, since the snow made it all very slick, and the simple act of braking started to seem like Russian Roulette where any stop could lead to a potential crash. So we used Dad's SUV.
Also, strange thing I heard while I was taking a crap: Apparently, R. Kelly's studio is going to be raided by police, but the reason given is actually bizarre: that it's actually not related to the sex cult allegations or even the sexual misconduct, but due to
ZONING ISSUES. Apparently, his studio was "illegally converted into a studio." Seriously? I understand that things might not quite have reached probable cause yet, but, did R. Kelly seriously not at least have his people take care of the basic building permits? Did they not somehow take care of this years ago, even if it would take some time to clear away any incriminating material? Am I seriously turning into that one guy from
Animal House who's surprised Bluto thinks the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
I hesitated posting about that until I could confirm that Alexa didn't somehow garble the message or that the bathroom door didn't mask something important that made this make sense. Then I found the Trib article.
