Currently in Day Eight of The Cold That Wouldn’t Fucking Die, but, remarkably, this is the first day I’m actually feeling some improvement.

Sitting in my nearly empty house watching Netflix. We have a few hours work to do tomorrow and Friday morning, then we are out of here and doing the vagabond thing.

The market for modest homes like ours is still hot, even though the range we are buying into has slowed way down. Both work in our favor.

Also think we found a buyer for our third car. We love it but it's hard to justify the expense of a third vehicle.

I hate moving; just sat down and worked out: Have had 26 addresses since I was born. The last four have been moving house. I guess that's why, having found a house I love, I've been here for 28 years. The aim is to stay here until the men with butterfly nets come for me.

Just got back from work. Burglar alarms going off at 5am this morning. Thankfully it was just a door flapping about in the wind, 2 hours at double time, don't mind if I do. I might as well stay up now, I'm wide awake and freezing.

Still have a largish collection of DVD's. Most are box sets I bought cheap. Only about 100 'other' DVD's. Ripping is no longer viable as all the local DVD shops have closed.

Today I have Netflix, so have far less interest in ripping/downloading films. Still download a few I want.These days I keep my film collection in MP4 format, usually 1080p resolution, on a 2TB external hard drive. The hard drive is connected to my router. That means I can access everything from any device on my internal network; 2 TVs; Imac, Laptop, tablet and phone .

Oh happy day! We need a new toilet in the master bathroom. I went to look at them and realized that no matter what, the wife was going to be asking a thousand questions, so I deferred the purchase until the weekend. I just found out that she went by herself and will pick one out, grinding the store staff with all those questions! All I have to do is take out the old one and install the new one!
