Nah, it's about your apparent inability to discern rational thinking from fallacy. I suspect that and your inability to read for comprehension are connected, but you might want to consult a professional on that one.

We're out of the trailer, now at my mom's til next Thursday. We were setting up the spare room and found a juvenile possum under the bed. It must have came in through the pet door.

Brewing a pot of decaf. Since I started using my K-cup coffee maker more, I'm brewing far fewer pots of decaf, and averaging about a K-cup a day. I think it may actually be saving me money.

Strange thing happened while I was watching the first episode of Catch-22. I left for work about ten minutes into watching Episode 1. Since Dad and I use the same Hulu account AND he was also interested in the series, he managed to watch the first half of the series, except that it started exactly where I left off. Dad talked about this while we were driving to restorative Yoga yesterday and I was confused about how he said there was no title card on the first episode. I rewatched the first one, and I managed to see the title card exactly a minute in. And he managed to overhear that "the God I don't believe in is a good God" line I've talked about so much that he didn't know was in there because he started after it played.

On the series, I get the impression that a miniseries adaptation gives the book more room to breathe. I've mentioned before that I think Christopher Abbott's Yossarian is a lot closer to the Yossarian of the book than Alan Arkin. That said, Lewis Pullman's Major Major Major (he hasn't added that fourth/first Major yet) doesn't look a thing like Henry Fonda in this version. Then again, neither did Bob Newhart. That said, given how for the original film, Heller insisted that either Henry Fonda play the role or someone who looked nothing like him play the part (and given how much Henry Fonda aged between the war and 1970), it kind of makes sense.

Somehow, it took this long for me to choose this week's entry in the Deep Hurting Project while in a state that could accurately be described as Deep Hurting. I managed to somehow throw my back out in the library today. Over the next few hours, the pain started to spread from I think my lower thoracic spine to my upper legs and index and middle fingers. I've spent the last few hours lying on my back, and while the pain has dulled significantly, I do feel a lot colder. As I write this, I'm at the dinner table wearing a Snuggie, typing this into my laptop and watching Episode 2 of Catch-22. Hopefully I'll be well enough to go to the guitar show in Villa Park tomorrow, maybe compare notes on the X-score with amp builders.

Anyway, this week in the Deep Hurting Project is One Missed Call. The American remake, not the original.

Incredibly, against all odds, I woke up to find that the only symptom to remain from yesterday is a worrying feeling in my colon. We may see Villa Park yet.

Watching John Wick 2, prepping for John Wick 3.

Best review I've seen for 3: "Bang, bang, stab-stab-stab, bang, stab, stab-bang."

Got well enough for the drive to Villa Park, and eventually, I managed to expel that worrying feeling from my colon (it took a few times, but eventually, it worked). I didn't buy anything, but Chicago Music Exchange did give away a T-shirt and some stickers. I saw a few interesting items, like Rics and Voxes, a powered pedalboard that Dad thinks he could make himself, and an overpriced version of this pedal (Seriously, it's $99 online, but $149 in the flesh. Dafuq?) Bones are starting to ache again. Sadly, I did not see any ampmakers with which I could compare notes on the X-score. Well, there was one table, but it was unattended, and since they made metal stacks, I’m not sure it would have done much good. And due to my interest in a proper pedalboard, Dad is currently at work working on something for my pedals.

That said, after taking that photo, we decided it might actually be best to split it into two boards: one larger one with the five pedals on the bottom row), and the other one with the Java box (which will have two preamps incorporated into it, one for guitar and one for kalimba), and the Joyo Ultimate Drive (which sounds a lot better with the kalimba than the guitar).
