Telling my mom that I don't like to eat fried chicken because it's a stereotype. She says it doesn't count because were not really black. At least not according to other black people. Yes I know this argument is silly. Giggles

When I was in the military the mess would have fried chicken, collard greens, etc. every year for Martin Luther King day.
I always thought that was horribly racist. But they did it for every year I was there. And no one said a word about it.

One year ago, Martin Luther King Day, aboard the USS Green Bay, I ate fried chicken, collard greens, cornbread, black eyed peas, and mashed potatoes. That is the official Navy menu, not something done out of rotation. There are a lot of black people in the Navy (I'm half black), and nobody said anything until after the meal was over. Walking away, licking your fingers, saying "man, that shit was racist."
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I never complained because it was actually a pretty good meal. Much better than the burritos made in China and the eggrolls made in Mexico.
I'm not shitting. That's not a joke.
