What's everyone up to right now?

Surely I am the one who screwed up the search function on my laptop but I figured out how to fix it.

YAY ME!

Isn’t that the absolute BEST?? Figuring out and fixing stuff, I mean, not screwing stuff up.

I recently replaced the battery in my mobile phone and walked around like King Shit for a day and a half.

Since late last night, I’ve developed some disturbing symptoms:
  • Headache that only slightly responds to medications.
  • Chills (with a temperature of about 99.3 Fahrenheit)
  • Dull Body aches all over
  • Feeling even more drowsy than usual.
I got particularly disturbed when I looked it up and one of the first things I found out (apart from the standard cold and flu) was that these were early signs of COVID. I am scared.

Go and get checked ASAP, please.

Make sure.

Sad I wish you the best medical treatment! Smile

On hold waiting for a call from the doctor. We described the symptoms to the nurse on the phone. Listened to a Muzak version of Tom Petty’s “I won’t back down” three times in a row before we got the news that a different doctor from my primary is on call tonight. And looking over the little detail, I console myself that I at least have the presence of mind to finally try and write that big review of Ken Branagh’s Hamlet I’ve been planning for my big 1000th column for Anglotopia. Maybe not enough to split hairs about the differences between the two quartos and the first folio, but at least it’s not too bad, even as my fever’s been ramping up.

I was up too late last night and up too early this morning. I'm off to bed for another 40 winks.  Great

Making cornbread treats for the parrots. Making iced tea. Emptied the dishwasher. Trying to get motivated to get some work done for my actual job.

Excited that the treatment the doctor has me on kicked in and for the last three days I have actually felt good and had some energy. YAY! for medical science.

Status update:

My temperature has been fluctuating, but seems to have stabilized to the mid-99s. Normally, I take a dump in the morning, but this time, I was unable to do so until after noon. My appetite has been depleted. The only things I’ve eaten all day are a bowl of instant mash (prepared with a mixture of water and pedialyte for the just add water phase), four strips of bacon, a peanut butter bagel, and about four glasses of milk (because, as it turns out, it’s actually one of the best things to rehydrate barring things like Pedialyte.) Trying to masturbate has bizarrely become an ordeal, taking roughly an hour. I have spent most of today lying on my back (sometimes sleeping, sometimes trying to dull the body pain) because I only got about five hours of sleep last night. The doctor has finally gotten back to me and suggests a CT scan of my sinus (even though it’s one of the few places that isn’t hurting now) and a chest x-ray. He says the hospital should call back, but they haven’t because insurance won’t actually cover medical procedures that could help treat me and see if I have a potentially deadly virus because that would make too much sense. On the bright side, I’ve managed to write 3000 words on Ken Branagh’s Hamlet for my thousandth column on Anglotopia.

Gesundheit.

Just watched a 4 hour stream on YouTube by Vaush. Since last week or so I have had restless legs syndrome (RLS). Takes me up to 6 hours to fall asleep and I'm only sleeping at most 4 hours each night, sometimes just 1½ - 2 hours. Took a blood test today to see if something is up.
