What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Some more good news, bad news:

Good News: it looks like we might be able to fix the issue with the capo, and the key is either in replacing the springs on the sides, or filing down the back wheel to make it less concave so it'll work on my flat-necked Cigar Box Guitar. Also, I'm starting to feel better than I have been.

Bad News: we needed to download another medical portal app to get the results (which will come in about six days) and it took about an hour and a half to log in (apparently due to Dad's decision to set it up himself with his email address and then change the login to mine, and we needed to call the helpline to do that). Unfortunately, despite starting to feel better, I might have developed a stomachache from eating too much at dinner, which is still less than normal.

What, she didn't let you play "pokies" during those 4 months?

I have lost a LOT of weight unintentionally lately, as well as having other symptoms that were beginning to look like the signs of something pretty ominous.

Found a new doctor who isn't an idiot and since the first of the month have been through a battery of tests and found out I am severely anemic and low on Vitamins D and B-12.  Supplements and injections were started on the 17th and the weight loss has stopped, other symptoms have stopped...and I am now not quite so concerned about what other tests may reveal.

At work.

Wondering if all that coffee was actually a good idea.

With the Barnes and Noble Criterion Half Off sale in its last days, I decided to look and see what my options were. And surprisingly, for reasons I'm fairly certain are COVID-related, pickings were surprisingly slim. Most everything that looked good to me (particularly the new release of Come and See) was currently unavailable online. But I decided to try and order something for in-store pickup: their Blu-Ray of Mildred Pierce. I got a message that it was ready within about 30 minutes. So, for the first time in a long time, I drove to Old Orchard to pick it up. And I spent some time wandering, and before I went to the checkout desk, I looked in the bargains section. I picked up a copy of Miklos Nyiszli's Auschwitz: A Doctor's Eyewitness Account as well.

I haven't posted or even lurked in an eternity it seems. I hope all of you and yours are well.

We've been doing a bit of camping owing to Covid, otherwise I scarcely have left my home since we returned from Mexico the third week of February.. I've been reworking and simplifying my guitar signal chain. Working. My adult step-children have been temporarily living with us since April. My son starts college remotely in September, remotely thankfully. Youngest stepson just passed an important tech certification. I hope there's a job for him out there.
