What's everyone up to right now?

For the record, I'm 30. And because of the pandemic, any procedure requires a COVID test about 72 hours prior to the surgery. So, this time around, it was just a nasal q-tip. And for reasons I think were related to the thick undergrowth of hair in my nose, I really felt it. Apparently, if they don't contact me within 48 hours (read: Thursday at 10:30), I should assume I tested negative.

You'll be okay.

Just relax.

I had my deviated septum fixed and various other sinus replumbing done about a dozen years ago.  I hadn't gone more than a six weeks without a sinus infection for decades before that.  You sleep right through the procedure and have a couple days of rest at home.  A month from now you will wonder why you didn't have it done sooner.  I haven't been on an antibiotic since late last year for an upper respiratory infection.  I hate to jinx it but I haven't had a sinus infection in several years.

Realizing how happy I am to be working from home while waiting for others to do their damn job so I can process payroll. If I were in the same building as these dipshits I would have to strangle someone.

I went to a pub for a simple meal and a pint of beer. An old friend of mine was there. We talked about lots of weird stuff, one of the subjects was that he asked me what would be needed for a donut-shaped planet to exist, I thought about it for a while and realized that an amazing amount of spin, mass and cohesion would be necessary, a sort of ring-of-center-of-gravity deal. He has insights I would never entertain. I like him.

Okay, for the record, for about a month, I've had the movie Two-Lane Blacktop on hold at the library for about a month. For all this month, it's been listed as "Check Shelf," but it never came in. When I come into the library, I look in the DVD T DRAMA section it's supposed to be in, it's not there. When I actually try to ask someone about this, well, I'm not sure what happened, since the lady claimed it was currently checked out (Even though the public version of the catalogue, before and after I asked, said it was still on the shelves.) Then, today, Dad knocked on my bedroom door and showed up with a new Blu-Ray version of the film. He's even installed the second Blu-ray player he somehow managed to get when the one in my room crapped out a month or two ago connected with the living room TV. For what it's worth, I think we'll wait until post-op to do that, because I'm still nervous about the operation and I'm trying to keep upbeat with Wes Anderson films.

Back playing up. Can’t sleep, can’t sit, can’t stand. It’ll pass.
