The Wide Bay Rodders Open bonnet night - Hervey Bay,QLD (last night)


Sadly, we were all gathered and heard a little bang. It was one of club members Darcy who backed his 70 Mach1 into a thick metal pole behind him. (It was only 3 feet tall so he didn't see it).
He drove off 5 minutes later and I noticed his rear bumper was so badly dented it had even damaged the rear of his car. The reason he left so quickly is because his wife
had her hand between the car and the pole yelling to him to stop. He was actually rushing her to hospital! Ouch... Hope she's OK. I'll find out more at this morning's coffee run.

One of the first things we were taught in Boot Camp in the Navy was to never place yourself between large moving objects, or one that is moving and the other stationary. Hopefully that gal only got a pinch, and didn't have her hand where the dent was installed.

As a guess judging by the high flowing high compression alloy heads, big carb, etc, I'd say around 300kw at the wheels (400 hp +/-).

The Chevy guys reckon I should take a dog with me everywhere I go so I won't have to walk home alone! Assholes! lol

All the old farts in the club I belong to are all lovely people. Hervey Bay in Qld is like paradise where all the oldies go to to retire.
It looks like they're all doing the right thing and spending the kids' inheritance! lol
I must have one of the least interesting cars in the club! (In fact I'm surprised they let the hoons from Melbourne join! lol)
