No idea what the last means.

I've never played the pokies.

I briefly hijacked my Dad's phone to text her if he actually got to meet Kubrick during the audition. And I referred to Kubrick as Him, with the capital.

As a little update on this question, while there was a brief moment where we thought he actually did get to meet Kubrick after he mentioned talking with "a bearded man", it was dashed as soon as it turned out the audition took place in downtown Chicago. Being the Kubrick stan that I am, I know that not only did He rarely leave the UK after he settled there in 1961, He didn't even leave it at all after his previous film Barry Lyndon was filmed, specifically after he fled Ireland because he got a death threat from the IRA over the phone (they did actually disrupt filming at one point due to calling in FOURTEEN BOMB THREATS IN ONE DAY, and, at least by that point, the crew got most everything they needed.) Since the video-phone from 2001 wasn't really a thing in the late Seventies, it's safe to assume that the bearded guy he talked with wasn't Him. That said, he was in the same group of auditonees that the kid who ended up playing Danny was in.

Currently figuring out a new quilt layout and how much more I need to make it work.

Also, thinking it's a good thing I got into quilt making a few months ago since the current wind chill is -3 and the next couple days promise similar temps.

Dad and I went to Rolling Meadows because there was some drill set he wanted to buy off somebody. Eventually, we got there and we saw that, just as soon as you drove past the house, you could see Rolling Stone Records. Amazingly, they’re still going on, despite the pandemic and the decline of physical record stores. Here’s what I got:

In addition, the mini-humbucker pickup we ordered for the archtop we’re rebuilding arrived, and with a strangely complicated wrapping. Not content with simple bubble wrap, they also included several layers of tin foil and some kind of pink rags with brown plastic tape on them.

And here’s a dry fit with the pickup, pickguard, bridge and tailpiece placed on it approximately where they would be when the project is finally finished. Strings and tuning pegs not included.

Also, it looks like there’s a reason I couldn’t find the model for the guitar: it isn’t actually a Regal. It was apparently made by some extremely obscure Japanese company called Nardan, and it apparently had its neck replaced with an old Regal.

Listening to a local symphony concert. Unfortunate that we can't go to see them live, but on the plus side the symphony is giving subscribers access to all the season's concerts via livestream (also available as a recording for several days afterwards).
