Apparently, one of his friends knew someone auditioned to play Danny. I briefly hijacked my Dad's phone to text her if he actually got to meet Kubrick during the audition. And I referred to Kubrick as Him, with the capital.
As a little update on this question, while there was a brief moment where we thought he actually did get to meet Kubrick after he mentioned talking with "a bearded man", it was dashed as soon as it turned out the audition took place in downtown Chicago. Being the Kubrick stan that I am, I know that not only did He rarely leave the UK after he settled there in 1961, He didn't even leave it at all after his previous film Barry Lyndon was filmed, specifically after he fled Ireland because he got a death threat from the IRA over the phone (they did actually disrupt filming at one point due to calling in FOURTEEN BOMB THREATS IN ONE DAY, and, at least by that point, the crew got most everything they needed.) Since the video-phone from 2001 wasn't really a thing in the late Seventies, it's safe to assume that the bearded guy he talked with wasn't Him. That said, he was in the same group of auditonees that the kid who ended up playing Danny was in.

The SO has that Enya. I listened to it on headphones while deer hunting. Kinda surreal hunting music.

Blocks out the screams of the people you're hunting, doesn't it?

It's currently 1 degree here. It'll be a few days before we have temps over freezing and there's more snow in the forecast for tomorrow.
We have two HVAC systems in the house and they are struggling to keep it somewhat warm in here despite running constantly. So far no pipes have frozen, thankfully. Texas houses aren't built for sustained cold weather.
Yesterday in the 6 degree weather with "freeze your ass off" wind chills, I sat in my car for about twenty minutes letting it idle since I hadn't even started it in nearly a week. I cleared snow that was about five inches deep off my windshield and hood. UGH.
My oldest dog walked out the back door the other day, went about a foot then circled back to the door...it's just too damn cold.

Spent a good-sized portion of today working on a big review of the Cats movie for Anglotopia. It's over 4,000 words long and I somehow managed to get through it without taking a heroic dose of catnip. Then again, at this point, it looks like it's ridiculous to expect catnip to work like psilocybin. That and Petco won't return my calls asking them for five dried grams of catnip.

Well, the Cats movie review I spent hours writing up has been posted to Anglotopia. Also spent some time trying to dig a path to the garbage bins. I say dig because there’s been so much snow that it felt less like shoveling snow and more like digging a snow trench. Hopefully this will give you some sort of perspective for the scale:
Also did another dry fit for the parts that need to be added to the archtop (minus the strings and the back side, of course, though both should be visible in the photo:

Trying to get help with HULU which hasn't worked all day. Maybe it froze to death.
