Buying a new microwave. My current microwave died, one month out of warranty. Amazon had a refurb of a Toshiba model I wanted, and the price savings covered the cost of a 4-year warranty. They only had one left, so I rushed in ordering it, but it is the one that I want, even if I'm not a fan of refurbs.

Just finished grading final exams and turning in grades. All done until the Fall!

Just picked up our resident cards at Immigration, now sitting down for breakfast and later today we're heading out of town for the weekend.

Just finished planting coleus, begonias, impatiens, and creeping jenny. Lavendar and asiatic lillies are next.

Finished sewing another quilt top onto the batting and backing. Maybe tomorrow I'll get the binding on and then that's a wrap on that one. I think this makes 18 quilts in under a year, not counting the six small ones I have made for the dogs.

Dinking around with my old microwave. I cooked one cup of water for 2:30 and it came out at 120F. Another at 2:00 and it was the same. Then a third at 2:00 and it came out at 140F. So I tried a Meals-On-Wheels meal at my standard 2:00. It came out undercooked. I wish the thing would just blow up or something so that I know that it's truly broken. I'm hesitant to throw it out if there's a chance of it working. The new microwave came this morning. I guess I'll just have to swallow my worries about replacing a microwave that might still be good and get over it.
