Made it back home and I did manage to get the Silver Dollar setting for the Churchill bolo tie.



Unfortunately, while you might not see it from this angle, it’s more than a little crooked, most likely a result of the slope in the basin where the coin is supposed to go, and perhaps a result of the fact that the Churchill Crown is 0.31 mm thicker than a silver dollar, even if the diameters are almost identical and if anything, smaller on the Crown.



(And, for the record, I have a silver dollar [a 1971 Eisenhower dollar, which the site said it’s designed for] ready to test it and, while it’s straighter, it still gets a bit crooked.)

Dad may or may not have the technology to fix it.

At least, other than that, the assemble looks solid looks solid and the tension clasp seems great. And it looks like the silver thrupenny bits, the Blu-ray of Au Hasard Balthazar, and the first edition of Sister Aimee all made it through the post office intact.
