The attending doc ordered Ativan. I know they're pros. I'm at a very good cardiopulmonary surgical center. I have bad anxiety over certain types of procedures for completely irrational reasons.

It's not irrational to worry about major surgery. Just take the Ativan and try to be calm.

Find something mindless on TV and doze off for a while. At least till they decide to poke you again.

Busy day yesterday, lots of work in the garden.

Still haven't been able to get into "The Wheel OF Time", it's boring. Don't think I'll bother any more.

Don't sweat it to much, either way there's not a hell of a lot you can do about it. Best wishes.

Catheter, which is the source of my anxiety. I'm needle-phobic and catheters are 1000x worse, on par with other stabby things like swords and bayonets. There's gonna be some.high anxiety between when they roll me down the the OR and when they administer the good stuff.

Trust me, you'll prefer the cath, better/easier/quicker recovery.

You may have to get over you're phobia but there is plenty of time to discuss this after.
