Watching the Twins win in absurd fashion. The Tigers were ahead by one. Larnach was on second. Urshela on first. Sano hits a deep outfield shot that bounces off the tip of outfielder Grossman's glove. Larnach advances to third and stops. Urshela advances to second. Sano rounds first, thinking Larnach had scored, forcing Urshela to advance toward third where Larnach was held up. The catcher, having received the relay from right field threw back to third to hang up Urshela and he overthrows the third baseman. Larnach and Urshela score on the Tigers' error.

Would like to be able to fall asleep but am worried about Ziggy having surgery tomorrow. Makes me nervous...too nervous to sleep. He's such a sweet dog.

A friend (more of an acquaintance) had 4 vessel stent placement this week. He's a couple of years younger than me, we grew up in the same town. A confirmed bachelor hayseed (never married, no kids, lives alone, hoarder, lives on the cheap). Released from the hospital last night.

Anyway, the doc's put him on a low salt/low fat diet (of course). This guy hasn't cooked a day in his life and, as far as I know, eats primarily fast food or frozen food that he can nuke. So a couple of his other "friends" and I are taking turns making food, grocery shopping, and getting him to his medical appointments. Today is my day.

Icing on the cake, he's a notorious non-compliant dick of a patient. Physicians have thrown him out of their office, more than one and more than once. Today he has a thyroid cancer check up (initial treatment 4 years ago). I'm not sure why he can't push this back a week until he's recovered a bit more but even his md's are insisting that he go. (maybe they enjoy him more in a weakened condition).

Should be an interesting day. I'm taking him red beans and rice and acorn squash, md appt is at 2PM.

Picking up my first shift through agency tonight. So I'm going to bed early to make certain I am well rested.
