Just found out some hacker (who is apparently from Canada) has managed to get into my PayPal account to purchase a P229 Elite pistol. I canceled the invoice, hope I don’t get charged the $215.14 anyway, because the fuck if I’m paying for some random Canuck’s armory.

I assume they would have had to give a shipping address in making such a purchase. Did they provide that information? That would be really useful to the police.

The full amount, for the record, is $1758. It looks like the $215.14 is supposed to be the down payment. Good thing I nipped that shit in the bud.

The note to the customer provided, with invoice number redacted:

On 03/04/2022 You Purchased a Compact Pistol With PayPal Credit of USD 1,758.00 The First Emi Of amount Is deducted From Your Bank Account
We have yet to receive payment from you of 175.14 in respect of our Order ID #REDACTED which was due for payment on 05/04/2022.
Kindly request you to clear the invoice. We look forward to more productive associations in the future.

Good point about the FFL dealer, though. I wish I had pointed that I don't have an FFL license (or any kind of firearms-related license) when I made my note canceling the invoice.

If the buyer expected to get the item, the shipper would have to have that information. Where is the seller located? It sounds like he knows more than that he's from Canada.
