I probably need a better knife. When I was stung by a hornet recently, I tried to scrape the stinger out with the side of the long blade, to no avail. It wasn't until I got home and dug it out with a utility knife that I succeeded.

What's everyone up to right now?

Well, there's an example. What if the hornet stung you and you didn't have ready access to one of your utility knives?

Turns out our apartment in Mexico suffered some damage in last week's earthquakes. Fortunately our house sitters were not injured. Fortunately we are closing on our new house by the end of the month so we are all but done with that old place.
Just tested negative 12 days on for covid (could've been earlier because I haven't been testing every day), so tentatively, I'm through, yay! So at least this strain, not the worst illness in the world... a lot less bad than I was expecting. Basically characterised by three stages I'd say - first a headache, then a fever and a sore throat, then a cough - but none of those stages felt unbearable. The main thing is that it's changed my sense of taste dramatically, and sources suggest that may last a lot longer... weeks to months... but I can live with that... it's certainly helped me to lose a lot of weight during this (about 3 pounds) so that's certainly a silver lining none of us in my family are complaining about, since we all lost a lot and not with any real sense of detriment.
Heading out to a meeting about mindfulness. Not really my thing, but the organizer is a friend, and I need the social activity. Today is about using mindfulness to combat procrastination. Now if I'd just stop putting mindfulness off.

I'm your huckleberry.
Not making fun of you Boda - it happens. Early one morning I woke up to my husband repeatedly pushing the button on the coffee maker and fussing that it was broke...turns out that water is an important part of the coffee making process. I figured that out and I don't even drink coffee.

Watching baseball and catching up on the day's news feeds. There's a fascinating article on quantum mechanics. Feeling a bit blue this evening. It could be the alcohol in my hard seltzer, or the lingering effects of a nap, or it could be something else. Never knowing is always frustrating.
