I've been watching people surf for the last couple of hours and I've concluded surfing primarily involves not catching waves.

Got the bacon grinder.
![]() And here’s what the ground bacon looks like after being sprinkled on potatoes (sliced with a spray of butter, a flake of cheese, and a couple pullings of chicken breast) ![]() Tastes good, but I just can’t figure out the best size to grind it to yet.

By this point, it fits damn near perfectly, thanks to the router. Also laminated the headstock, pickguard and truss rod cover templates because it turns out that spending all that time in a bag waiting to be used does not help with their structural integrity. And since I forgot to give you pictures of what it looks like now, here they are. ![]() And here’s one of the headstock mock-up. ![]() Note: the exact colour of either the headstock or the body is not representative of what I expect it to look like. It was hard enough finding a high-quality photo of a PRS 12-string headstock without trying to narrow it down to a Fireglo version that might not even exist.

I’d think of it more as an innovation than an invention. I just used a refillable salt/pepper grinder, cooked up some bacon and put it in there.

Debating about attending a funeral for one of my uncles. It's out of state, and I get the time off of work. So does my husband. But, I really haven't spent much time with this uncle since I was a a teenager, maybe? He and his wife moved away, and I'm being guilted into going by my parents. I know it's cliche to say ''I don't like funerals,'' but I really don't. I prefer celebrations of life - like two months after the person passes, after everyone has had a chance to cry on their own and get the initial shock out of their system...
![]() I personally think ''viewings'' are macabre and strange. That's a tough one when you have family poking you to go. I grew up being herded through the local funeral homes to pay my respects to people I often didn't know. It's creepy. We had a memorial service for my dad a few months after he died, at the golf course he loved. All his golfing and card playing buddies were there. We shared stories and memories and photos. Much better that way...IMHO. This was after a get together in the town where he lived at the end with his buddies at the American Legion hall. Those guys did everything from taking dad to medical appts. and mowing his lawn to making sure he had regular visitors since we kids were all many miles away. It was nice to meet them and to share memories with them.

Just got done throwing my 'Annual Appeal' for funds from the Catholic High School I attended. I graduated in 1975...you would think by now they would save the paper and postage by taking my name off the damn list.
There will be more pleas for cash in the form of raffle tickets and dinners that I am not going to drive a thousand miles to attend. I love the annual appeal thing since I get hit up at least four times a year.

Get get funding requests from my public high school, both colleges and the university. Can't throw them in the trash trash fast enough.
