I finally opened up my new saute pan. Tomorrow is the last day to return it. There's a very minor imperfection on the handle, but not significant enough to justify returning it. It's very nice. I accidentally bought a 2.5-pound package of ground beef when I was intending to get something 2.35 pounds or under. Why they don't package their fresh ground beef in packages that are an even two pounds I don't know. The recipe calls for 2 pounds (tater tot casserole). It probably won't matter. I just need to decide whether to use a 4-quart or 5-quart saute pan for browning the ground beef. I guess it should fit in a 4-quart, but I don't know.

I've looked at hybrid pans and I may try one, but given the durability issues, I don't understand the appeal.

Didn't know it had durability issues. Now I got the buyers remorse.

Yeah, the PTFE coating on hybrids tends to shed sooner than a continuous coating. I'm not sure what the coating is on my new saute pan. They seem to talk about it being ceramic.

They no longer sell instant iced tea in the store, so I ordered some Nestea from Thailand off Ebay. The package is smaller than I expected. Since the instructions are in Thai, I'll just have to experiment.

Went to Lincolnwood Town Center for two things:
1) to pick up some jeans at Old Navy I ordered online (I don’t know what Cyber Easter is even supposed to mean, let alone why it’s happening three weeks before regular Easter, but it works.)
2) to finally make that custom “Elliott Smith didn’t kill himself” tee. The guy was okay and the price was $30 plus tax.
And the transparency I used is right here and I hereby release it into the public domain to the best of my ability, because, frankly, justice for Elliott is far more important than any potential IP disputes:

Celebrating that I was able to get my license online instead of having to go to the DMV.
Glad that's done. It doesn't expire till 2033...by then, if I am still around, I might not be able to drive any more anyway.

Did mine last year- lots of miscommunication- take the test on line, then at the DMV, not required. Aced it, of course, it was online. Watch a module, answer questions, of which, the answers have been the same for decades. Renew in 2029? Hard to say where I'll be, health-wise.

Putting on a second pot of coffee. I'm expecting Walmart delivery and pickup a couple of times today, and pest control plans a visit as well.
