My wife had a nasty slip-and-fall yesterday, we were expecting a torn knee ligament but it turns out to be "just" a bad sprain and hairline femur fracture.

Figuring out a replacement for the home phone service that I was using. It ended last September, but it had continued to work until my VOIP device lost power yesterday. Now I need a new VOIP service. There's an inexpensive one that includes 911 service for about $3 per month, or the first year of Magic Jack is about the same. Renewals for Magic Jack would be higher and Magic Jack doesn't include 911 service, so I'm leaning towards the other service. It's just a bit of work and a bit of a learning curve involved.

Weird. My home phone is working again. They sunset'd service back in September, but they said things would continue working for a while.

With most of the developed world’s post offices shutting themselves off from America, I thankfully had the sense to order this pin from Britain before Trump ended de minimis. It finally arrived today. YNWA.

Just finished getting my new air conditioner installed. I like it better than my last one. The last one was 120 volt and so I had to manage load distribution using an extension cord so that it wasn't tripping the breakers all the time. This one is 220 volt, and plugs into its own electrical circuit, so I don't have to mess around. The new one is a GE brand air conditioner, which inspires more confidence than the off-brand one they installed last time. The only downside is that it sticks out an inch further than the previous one. All in all, though, I'm happy. Now if I can get to the bottom of why the county canceled my bus card, things will be peachy.

Going to Ravinia later today for the Marvel Infinity Saga concert experience: 50 hours’ worth of the most profitable film franchise condensed to a single 2 1/2 hour experience with live music.

It’s going to be my last show of the season, and, sadly, it’s been something of a bust, between sleeping through The Goldberg Variations, getting rained out of Weird Al, losing all of July to Dad’s sciatica, and missing King Gizzard.
