What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Happy weekend, and here’s to a long weekend. Well, if you live in the states. My favorite time of year is coming, the “ber” months. Heart

Something terrifying is going on with my laptop. When I returned home from the store, it took a while to turn on, and when it did, BitLocker turned on.

Reconnecting my VOIP phone. I just accidentally figured out how to keep it working the other day. And I found the Wifi dongle for it, and that appears to be working as well.

Edit: I had to click something that said “skip this drive” and now it’s working normally.

Hooking up a couple of 8TB hard disks that I bought in June. They've got a 90-day return period, which ends on the 15th, so I need to get them tested and checked out.

Finally managed to find the recovery key in my Microsoft account. Printed it out twice for safety.

I was wondering overnight if I know the password for my router. And if I have it recorded anywhere.

Shopping for kitchen tweezers. I figure that using kitchen tweezers to bread fish and chicken would work better than my hand because my lack of fingers. There's a 9" tweezer for $5 and a pair of 12" tweezers for $10. I'm split on which to buy. And looking at Julienne peelers. A pair of those would work great for stir fry prep.

And I'm still mulling over getting a good quality blood pressure cuff. I ordered a wrist cuff type, but returned it. The wrist type are not accurate enough. A good quality one will cost up to $100, but I don't want to spend the money. But it's not like I'll stop needing one anytime soon. I've got a cheap arm cuff one, but it's not very accurate and gives inconsistent readings.

Setting up a test system with one of the Supermicro server motherboards. I'm a bit out of my depth as I have almost zero experience with server motherboards. I'm finding out that they're very different from the consumer boards that I've been working with for 25 years. It fired up just fine, it even still has the correct date and time in memory. It shouldn't take too much work to get the system configured for testing those new hard drives. And once that's done, I can move everything into the new case I bought to serve as my NAS home.

By my count, I've got nine 8 TB disks aside from the new ones. I thought I only had eight. One is installed in a case for game storage for my XBOX. I have no clue as to where that disk came from.
