Humbug.

There is nothing that somebody won't find a way to fuck up.

Coffee with coconut-flavored creamer. I'm liking my new mini coffee maker. It's just the right size.

Completed installing a new carburetor on my truck. Needs a little calibration for fine tuning, but that's it. I had to buy an adapter to fit the new carb in place. The company that makes it is going to get dragged. Poor machining accuracy and bad dies that made modifying the adapter and gaskets necessary. Carb works great, though.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

There’s an old saying in the machining industry: ‘Failsafes aren’t and interchangeable parts won’t.’

Unboxing the 1-quart stainless steel saucepan that I ordered. I don't know that it will be more useful than the cheap nonstick saucepans, but it feels more substantial. And it's 18/10 stainless, which I didn't know when I ordered it. It was one of the cheapest ones that I looked at, so the quality is a nice bonus.

While we don’t buy the super-duper high end stuff, cookware is something we don’t skimp on - it pays for itself in the long run.

Glad you like your new pan!

This is generally true - sometimes there's gems in the bargain bin. My wife's favorite pan is one of those "copper" non stick jobs, white elephant gifted by my mother who is famously ... thrifty. Mine is a cheap cast iron round griddle that i paid the princely sum of $11.95 for.

Six years ago, I bought an enamelware stockpot at a white elephant sale for 75c. Love it.
