We have neighbors who put on locally famous holiday displays on our street.  This year, they apparently got a permit to prohibit all on-street parking, and there's now a food truck operating out front.

Humbug.

There is nothing that somebody won't find a way to fuck up.

Completed installing a new carburetor on my truck. Needs a little calibration for fine tuning, but that's it. I had to buy an adapter to fit the new carb in place. The company that makes it is going to get dragged. Poor machining accuracy and bad dies that made modifying the adapter and gaskets necessary. Carb works great, though.

Unboxing the 1-quart stainless steel saucepan that I ordered. I don't know that it will be more useful than the cheap nonstick saucepans, but it feels more substantial. And it's 18/10 stainless, which I didn't know when I ordered it. It was one of the cheapest ones that I looked at, so the quality is a nice bonus.

This is generally true - sometimes there's gems in the bargain bin. My wife's favorite pan is one of those "copper" non stick jobs, white elephant gifted by my mother who is famously ... thrifty. Mine is a cheap cast iron round griddle that i paid the princely sum of $11.95 for.
