Because after we Traced the plate, it linked to a dealership in Arlington Heights. Apparently, at least in America, leases can do that.

Oh, it got worse than that. I made it sit on the counter and watch while I set up the new one, all the while making comments like, ‘See what happens?’ and ‘Not so tough now, are you?’

Okay, so it turns out that a big part of why the woman's license plate turned out to be a dealer plate is because Dad misread one of the seven characters on the plate. He thought a Z was a 2. Going to the police seems to have cleared it up. One thing that threw me for a loop: the woman I thought was Indian may have actually been Nigerian, or at least the owner of the car was. I don't know if she owned it or not.

I woke up to a dead computer that wouldn't boot. I was afraid that I was looking at having to tear down the system to troubleshoot the problem. I've not had to do that with a water-cooled system. I was a bit afraid. But after disconnecting all the USB devices, it unfroze and booted up. After some fiddling I got everything reconnected.

Coffee, pills, and football. I'm trying a new blend -- Green Mountain's Costa Rica. It's quite good.

Dyed my hair. It's a job I dread since my hair is down to my waist now and it's a lot of work to get it all done. But...not only did my roots need touching up but I noticed what I am going to call tinsel sprouting among those roots. Well, that chore is done.

Tomorrow I am going to a holiday luncheon put on by work. I am not overly thrilled since it's going to be two hours of driving for a two hour gathering. Driving in the Dallas area on a peak Christmas shopping day is not high up on my list of things I want to do.
