Still rained out. Starting to get house crazy.

I use a cane, and the grippy surface is worn smooth from years of use (at my hand). Most canes are just inverted "U" shapes at the top and most are also too small a diameter for my big mitts. Looked online, but didn't see much else. Went by a local place that sells all kinds of medical equipment. The guy seemed a bit put off when I asked for options beyond the standards in the front of the store, but grudgingly went into the back and found one that I can use. I need to bend the tubing so that my wrist isn't bent while using it. I'll have my one son who is strong enough put the necessary bend into it. I would do it, but if I could, I wouldn't need the cane. Even though it's the knee that's giving me trouble.

My newish hip occasionally gives me gyp and the cane helps a good deal. After rejecting several commercial canes, I made my own - red cedar handle and a heart pine body with a 10mm steel rod embedded in the upright.

Paying rent and opening mail. I received a notice that they need to recertify mmy medical benefits. It says not to reply before December 30 and to reply no later than January 8. This despite the fact that it clearly says the review is to be done for February. The last time I had to do paperwork for the county, I submitted my forms the day I received the notice. I proceeded to receive repeated letters telling me that I was in danger of missing the filing deadline for my paperwork. Apparently, they cannot submit information to the system more than a month in advance, so if you're a few days early, they just hold your info and manually initiate submission when it's closer to the deadline. P.I.T.A.

Walmart has halved, trimmed Brussels sprouts, but not whole. That's odd.

Target has Madeleines on sale. I'm going to eat lunch and spend some time playing a videogame to help me decide about a similar videogame that's on sale, but then I'll head to the store to pick up a large package of Madeleines. My watch band for my watch is due to be delivered to an Amazon locker today, but the Target nearby only sells the small packages of Madeleines.

Waiting on the next bus. I was in a hurry heading to the bus, so I pulled a box fan off the chest freezer and set it on the floor and didn't put it back. On the bus, the thought occurred to me that it might tip over and catch fire, so I headed back on the next bus. Now I'm waiting for the next bus going where I was headed 30 minutes ago.

On my way to Target Richfield. I could have saved 30 minutes round trip by going downtown instead, but the Richfield store is a Super Target and the downtown one is not. A woman on the bus was toting a package of frozen blueberry pancakes, so now I have to have blueberry pancakes.

Target already has the their Valentine's day stuff out. They had Good & Gather hot buttered rum coffee that they were clearing out at 15% off and I had a $10 gift card that my sister gave me for Christmas and so I bought two bags. I normally drink Cameron's Jamaican Me Crazy hot buttered rum coffee but we'll try this. I have four months to return bag two if bag one is unsatisfactory. And now that I've typed this twice thanks to autocorrect and a moving bus, I'm go to press submit.
