Dinking around replacing a case fan on the NAS I'm building. I need to do housework, but after two weeks of lying around sick, it's easier to get moving on the more high interest computer junk. The housework can wait. I tried a different mounting system for the fan, but ended up going with screws. In the process, I pulled the bezels off, which was just as well, as the bottom of the front bezel had some odd grunge on it. I don't know where it came from, given that I have tile floors. It was like it had been dragged across carpet. Anyway, got the front panel header connected. Cable management is so much not a priority with this build. I wanted to back-route the power cables, but the position of the headers, and the inline caps on the PSU cables made that impossible without extensions, so, fuck it. It's not going to win any awards.

Yesterday on my way into Aldi I found a $20 bill that somebody had dropped. That was nice. That covered the food from Jersey Mike's and Target that I had for lunch.

Glarg. My gaming computer is downloading shit and it's making my browsing slow. I need to set up throttling for it, but I don't know how to do that.

My case has space at the front for an additional fan. Without it, there's a 20cm gap between the front intake and the rear exhaust fan, which might cause some weird airflow circles. They sell the fans in black, or clear with blue LEDs. That's what the other three fans are. But the LEDs on the others can be turned off. The LEDs on the replacement fan cannot be turned off. If I'm willing to live with that, it's $5 cheaper and matches what's already in there. The smart money says to get the black ones without any lights, as that wouldn't be visible. But I'm not so smart. I'm debating.

They sell a black, ARGB version. The motherboard isn't ARGB capable, but I could add a controller or just leave it unused, as it's a nice case that may end up having other uses.

Budgeting. I'm about $50 over where I should be this week, mostly from what I spent at Menard's. And I'm spending too much on food. Quelle surprise.
