Tracking a delivery from Target. The Fedex page says that it's being shipped using their SmartPost services, which uses USPS delivery for the last mile, but I still worry about it.

Installing a virtual machine on the new PC in order to host game emulators.

Ordering some USB flash drives. The price of flash drives has gone out of sight. I guess that makes sense as they're a memory product, too.

Canceled the Netflix subscription, because I haven't been interested in watching anything on there.

Installing the new fan in the NAS case. I removed 8 screws in order to free a hardware cage. In hindsight, it only required two screws to be removed. Oh well.

Half an hour later I figure out that I put the hardware cage back in cock-eyed. Maybe I should have done this another time.

Swapping in a new CPU on an old AM2 socket motherboard. It had been throwing off errors indicating that it couldn't initialize the video. Since the CPU heatsink was caked with dust and the fan was ramping up and down, I suspected the CPU might have burned up, killing the data lanes to the video card slot. So I spent $10 on a new CPU, and that does appear to have been the problem. There isn't much point to fixing the board as it's basically ancient junk that I have no use for, but I hated to leave it with a question mark.

I need to rebuild my new gaming PC Windows install. For some reason, it's not sleeping like it should. I also need to rearrange the distribution of SSDs between it and my XBOX once my new XBOX expansion card arrives, so back on the test bench it goes. I've got a bunch of data shuffling on various disks to do before I'm ready to finish my NAS, so I'll set that aside for now.

It looks like I've solved the problem with my PC waking up. I have to close any Steam splash screens and I disabled Wake-on-LAN.

Decided to drive to Lincolnwood Town Center to see what was going on. Bad news: damn near every store except Old Navy, Kohl’s, and Claire’s is either gone or close to it. Even the kiosk where I had my “Elliott Smith didn’t kill himself” shirt created is stripped bare. Apparently, the mall is closing at the end of April. At least I got some new jeans from the Old Navy, even if I had to explain that she got the price wrong.
