I have the Bose Acoustic Wave radio hooked to my TV. The tall one. I love it. It isn't necessarily mind blowing as far as big sound. But no matter where I am in the room, it throws the sound around the same. I love that. My kitchen overlooks my living room, and if I'm in the kitchen cooking, the volume sounds the same, rich and clear. I would recommend it to anyone. Although you should find a deal on Craigslist for it. I only paid $300 for the base and the CD changer. It is $1200 retail.

I need to get some good 2.1 or 5.1 speakers for my TV - I just have the built-in speaker right now and it SUCKS!!
I REALLY want the Bose CineMate speakers (my parents have them and they're great) but I'll probably end up with the cheapest set I find at Costco.
I hear Bose speakers are overrated, but I don't really know.
I've got these in the bedroom and consider them good for the money, though I think a lot depends on the input source quality. (Hooked up to the bedroom TV they sound good. Hooked up to a top of the line Cowon mp3 player, they sound awesome, but that includes a bunch of equalization functions built into the mp3 player.)

Going in to work late. Stayed at my girlfriend's place last night, and a drunk driver hit a parked car right outside the bedroom window. The driver tried to flee the scene with a broken axle and in the process woke the entire neighborhood at 2:30 in the morning. Had to keep the idiot from wandering off until the police arrived.

Reasonably priced 5.1 speaker recommendation - Energy Take Classic 5.1 $299.99 delivered. Don't know what you have but you are going to need some kind of receiver to drive most 5.1 speaker setups.

You had me fooled. Good on your inventor, they did a good job on you.

Drinking coffee and listening to music. There are a number of Energy speaker setups that are highly reviewed. If you've got the money, that might be the way to go. I've never listened to Energy speakers in person though. I've got a 2.1 setup for my main TV, but it's over $500 total, not including the receiver.

Am I the only one who thinks the stock speakers on my tv are just fine and never used to their fullest potential?
Or is it the "kids effect", where I try to make them listen to it on decent audio levels... and, when I could take advantage of it, they're asleep, so I can't be loud...?

I am just fine with the stock speakers, and didn't really notice an issue. I just happened to fall into this deal for the Bose system, and it is awesome, the difference. But I am not an audiophile. I really enjoy the difference when I am watching a movie, though.
