My thoughts are definitely with you Cthulhu. When they did the exploratory with my mom, she was in and out of surgery so quickly we thought the news would be great. The news was "we can only hope the cancer's sensitive to chemo." It wasn't.
Here's to a full recovery for your mom. Cancer takes too damn many!

Never had anything worse than a stray cat growl at me around the house and we have coyotes living in town.
I did have to clean my britches one day after a cut-short hike at Rocky Mountain National Park. Stopped for a smoke at one of my favorite viewpoints and after a few minutes noticed a female cougar up the hill a ways. She was in full on hunting crouch, tail twitching staring right at
me. Just about the time I was realizing that 200 pounds of pissed-off wild cat would likely ruin my day, she charged...
And pounced on the rabbit I couldn't see about 50 yards away. I learned two valuable lessons that day. One, never go back country hiking in the Rockies alone and unarmed. Two, if you do, wear some frickin' depends.
Speaking of which. I need to organize another Rocky Mountain hike. It's been years since I've done that and I'm sure I can arrange to have someone in the party slower than me. Or someone who's easy to trip. You know. Just in case.

Decompressing from a trip to a medical conference in Anaheim. Disneyland is so freaking expensive. I should have used Marriott instead of the D-land Hotel.

That seems about correct for Anaheim as well. I guess my nner child is just about dead. Though I still loved seeing the monorail. I never got to ride that as a kid, and I'm not sure why.
As for my, Im having a Spotify day, including some Arcade Fire right now, and the Lost In Translation soundtrack before that.
