You know.... negro, in portuguese, is the P.C. word. The equivalent of black, preto, is the offensive one.... curious, huh?
I'd guess that, in spanish, it's similar.

Offensive words are a funny thing. One is so used to them and they cause such a visceral reaction that sometimes one almost forgets that words themselves are not magical, and their meanings merely a convention

In Spanish "negro" is the color black.
Prieto is the offensive one, as Poca said.
To me, negro modelo is a black model, which is hot. Although, you would say it "modelo negro" not the other way around. Negra Modelo (the beer) wouldn't be named that if it was offensive.

I think I'm past the point of disgust with some people...think I'm to the point of boredom. Wish there was a way to beam up to other planets...and see if other life forms exist, and if they do...are they any more interesting than we are? Where is Einstein when you need him.
