Nothing much.

OMFG, pork chops... I haven't had a pork chop in over a month.  

(I've been eating plenty of sauteed food, as long as it's sauteed in olive oil and lightly breaded, or not at all.)

If you're adventurous, you could try turkey necks; the flavor in them is like nothing else. I'm cooking up some in my crock-pot tonight:

A whole chopped onion, a couple of bay leaves, garlic, paprika, salt, lots of pepper and sage. Half a cup of water and a splash of soy sauce.
It makes it's own gravy. They look a little odd, but they might be the best you'll ever eat, diet or not. No added fat, or flour.

It's one of my all-time favorites.

EDIT: Oh, yeah...a pinch of cayenne pepper goes in there.

Yeah I used to fight Mom over the neck on turkey day. Good eating, and the only dark meat on the bird worth eating IMO.

God I wish we could convince doctors/regulators to be able to prescribe larger quantities. Nothing gets solved with these tiny little bottles, since the drug seekers and the actual patients will be coming back in at the same time anyway, and in fact, it'd be easier to peg the addicts if you give out a hundred pills and they're gone in a week. All that happens are that those in real need end up having to come down to the wire in getting their refills, and courting withdrawals if ever their pharmacy doesn't have it all in stock, which has happened to us before.

On a related note, Luckie's just had her surgery scheduled for two week's time, which should alleviate a lot of her chronic pain and get her a higher dosage of painkillers afterwards, so that's nice. And worrying.

Immunosuppressed people don't exactly need to be going under the knife.  

Well, wish me luck. I just completed all the paperwork to see if my provider's Pain Management Committee will deem me worthy of, well, pain management.

Hugs CD I don't know what else to say when nothing anyone can say can help you through your pain and when you're faced with a callous bureaucracy that doesn't seem to care and operates from a seemingly cynical motive. A bit like Atos "Healthcare" in this country (they provide(d) medical examinations to determine if people should be entitled so ESA... a particular sickness benefit) but took a lot of flack from a lot of people (including me) for their callous and cynical approach. Unfortunately it just seems to be the way of the world... the less personal it is and the more removed and abstract it is... ie government departments/businesses dealing in numbers/statistics etc... the less people care about individuals. I hope it works out for you and you can find some relief hugs again
