My band just played a gig and I have "whole lot of rosie" by ACDC still ringing in my ears that we played last.
So many guitarists were using the wah pedal. I was in heaven. I love the fucking wah.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Went to an antiques show in Grayslake. Bought an old Regal Tiple (almost 100 years old) for $60. Asking price was $100, but given several factors (it being a bit of a fixer-upper and tiples not being hot sellers and Dad only having $60 cash in his wallet), Dad was able to talk him down.
I actually tried playing it before buying it, but the guy at the booth said it would need work before it would be playable. I left sheepishly, but apparently, he thought I left in a huff. Dad eventually went back, bought it, and even explained my reaction. We're hoping to get it as good as new (possibly even better, with a little bracing for the top, possibly putting pure nickel wound strings in place of the brass wound ones, and maybe some sort of pickup installation if I can find something that can actually fit in the soundhole).
Here's what it should sound like when it's finally fixed:
And except for the white binding on the one in the video and the fact that on mine, the bridge is almost an inch away from peeling off the top, it already almost looks like it. Now, let's see if it plays like it.

Yes, it is moi. And I had a lovely time visiting my sugar in the Lone Star state.
I'm back in VA now, though.
I tell ya, I leave for a few days, and all hell breaks loose over here.
Awe girl...you aren't that far from me... Well depending on what part of VA. We should plan a visit in the future

I'm saying this at the risk of offending bassists, but I wanted to chill out and put less effort in so I wasn't playing the standard guitar I was just playing the bass. If we were playing red hot chilli peppers I would have been out of my depth but we were only covering blur, ACDC and the Ramones.
On the bass I feel like I only have to put in a few minutes to learn most songs, I don't know any of the equipment I used because the amp and the bass were provided to me as I walked on stage I didn't bother to check.
Our guitarist used a line 6 with a crybaby wah wah, it looked like a modern version. The best singer of the night in a different band looked like he had a similar Gibson to yours, an SG looking one, our guitarists had epiphones.

My future husband slid into my dms on instagram and now I spend a portion of my free time devising plans to break into his apartment and suck his dick find an excuse to talk. And also stressing out over screwing this up.
But tonight is girls night. I bought chips and liquor and I'm gonna fuck up my sleep pattern! Cheers!

I got an on-body injector on my belly that's currently giving me a neulasta shot to build up my white blood cells. It's weird.
Spent today at OMSI going through their pompeii exhibit which was cool.
Shaving the rest of my hair tomorrow and then spending the rest of the day doing what *I* want to do! (starting a watercolor)
How does the neulasta box actually work? I've seen the ads, but can't figure it out. Does it poke you when they affix it to you? Is it more like a patch?
It's a little mechanical box-like thing that they stick to you - either on your belly or the back of your arm. When they put it on you it starts beeping (beeping, beeping, beeping, beeping...) and then sticks you with a needle and leaves behind a cannula through which it delivers the medicine that the nurse loads into the injector. It's on a timer to go off 27 hours after you put it on (or maybe that was just mine?) so at 6:15 Saturday night it started beeping again and then started injecting me through the cannula.
There's a little gas gauge you can watch to see if the injection is going it, but it took 45 minutes so I didn't watch.
Then, after it's all done, the blinking green light turns to a solid green light and you can remove the mechanical box thingy.
The cannula on mine didn't retract so I had to pull the little tube out. It was weird. But I swabbed it with alcohol (which I had because it was the only way to remove the injector residue without taking my skin with it) and it came off pretty well.
Over all it was just... odd. I'm glad I don't have to wear that thing any more than the 27 hours!
