What's everyone up to right now?
RE: What's everyone up to right now?
feeling like I just posted to the wrong thread recently.

Also, debating staying up way late to watch some NZ returns.

Also, Sex Pistols.

Isolating the problems in my life as of right now. It's going to be an updated list from like a week ago. Since I've pretty much decided on what I'm going to do with my life next, the biggest one is off. The remaining are:

- the guy I fell for for no good reason appears to be largely not madly in love with me (also for no good reason);
- I wanna smoke. Reaaaaaal bad. I think I have a problem. One that could be solved by not smoking. But where's the fun in that?

Other than that, with my health temporarily in an acceptable condition, life is so peachy that I smile to myself on the bus ride home thinking about it. Life's good.

Just for the love of gawd, no more goddamn birthday parties!! It's like you EXPECT me to get drunk. My body can't take it in this quantity. SEND HELP

Wondering how I'm going to let the man I've been seeing down gently. Also wondering how the hell I wound up in this situation.

Guess who forgot the password to their computer? I'm such a dummy. I couldn't remember my password, and you can no longer switch the user to login to at the screen prompt. So I hunt down an old copy of my password changing tool. Boot it up, and... it's out of date, so it's useless. So I try to boot up the password tool from an older computer. The cdrom drive won't open, and I don't have a paperclip to open it with. So I install a different DVD-ROM drive. It won't boot from that drive. So finally I find a piece of wire and get the first drive open. The password tool can't find the hard disk in that machine. So I decide to reinstall windows xp and make a bootable USB stick from a fresh install. The windows setup errors out with a BSOD. Luckily I remembered that I had Windows 7 setup disks as well. So I install windows 7 on that machine and make a bootable USB stick with password changing tool. Moving all the cables back to the main computer, and boot the USB stick, and I'm in!

Fuck me! Three hours of dinking around with old and broken hardware just because I forgot my password. Damn memory problems.

Watching a Battlestar Galactica reboot marathon. It was more exciting the first time through, but it's about the only thing on.

Jor, there is a way to force the Administrator login prompt from memory.
Would you have remembered that pwd?

You went t a lot of effort.

Well, none of my old tricks worked. You gotta go with what you know. I tried pressing ctrl+alt+del twice. I googled how to change the login prompt, but the only answers coming up required you to be logged in already. *shrug* The Administrator password on the old XP box was changed from what I remembered it being, so there's no guarantee the Administrator password would have been correct either. Just for my own reference, how do you change the login prompt?

I just saw the same commercial three times during the same commercial break. Now that's what I call saturation.

As a rule, I float between about 5-10 different passwords. I visit a lot of sites so I bought a decent sized address book that all my web addresses and passwords go into. The kids stuff is also in there too.

It's very handy.
