Just had dinner at mum's house.
She made chicken soup from chicken bones and beef stock. It was edible. I bought some garlic bread and she put it in the oven and burnt it to a crisp. Poor mum. 
The copy of Book of Disquiet whose whereabouts I've been obsessing over for the last week or so has finally arrived at my local Post Office. Sadly, it arrived too late to be sent with today's mail.

Well, first thing I did when I got home from work this afternoon was have a cup of tea. A thunderstorm rolled in so I couldn't work in the yard, so I took a nap.
When I got up around 8:00 the storm had passed, so I went out in the back yard to pull nails and chop up old lumber, and made quite a respectable-sized pile that I can drop off at the recycling depot sometime tomorrow. (Still shaking sawdust out of my hair, my shirt and my bra. I suspect a nice bath is in order to remedy the situation.) Had supper, then got out a binder of music I need to look over for tomorrow morning; First chair clarinet is going to be away, and if no other firsts show up for practice, I'm the backup. All but two of the pieces I've played sometime in the past, so I studied the new ones and listened to them on YouTube. Expecting things to go fairly smoothly, although the prospect of being the section principal still terrifies me beyond the capacity for rational thought.
