I wielded a broom and a garden hose for my last spider massacre. A bunch were getting way too comfy on my back terrace and I felt sorta bad but a few were sneaking into the house, so they had to go. -Teresa

That's what happened a few weeks ago. The fucking little 8-legged shits got into my shirt without my seeing them. I still have the marks from where they got me. The doctor said those would be gone in a couple of weeks, but the marks are still there, over a month later. I'm going to pressure wash the house with soapy water (since I don't relish inhaling insecticide) to get rid of them. Spiders can eat every bug they find, but not when it gets into my territory. I even let the spindly long-legged spiders live in the garage, since they out-compete the black widows for food.

Spent most of the evening making phở from scratch, with mass quantities of chicken necks and backs. Had a bowl of the finished product with rice noodles, bean sprouts, green onions, and *one* birds-eye pepper. (After a couple of spoonfuls, I ended up hauling out about half the slices of pepper, because it was insanely hot. Fortunately, biting into a chunk of fresh lime cut out almost all of the burning.)
