My throat is fairly good, but my sinuses are inflamed and it sucks. And I don't have any cough drops on hand. This is not a good time for this, but I suppose any time over the holidays is not a good time. I just wish it had waited until Tuesday. Today I've got an early'ish meetup to discuss the book, "How Democracies Die." It will take several buses and help from a kindly fellow who is picking me up at the last bus stop in order for me to get there, but I'm glad to add a book club to my list of things to do. I just wish I were feeling better. On Monday I have to return several things, and then will spend the bulk of my time with my ILS worker wrapping Christmas presents. Again, wishing I were well, but what are you gonna do? Hopefully this shit will be over and done by Christmas. Nothing like opening presents when you feel miserable.
Old Mother Boru’s Cold Remedy: put 3-4 teaspoons of minced onion into a large glass of extra sweet lemonade. Man up and drink.
Hope you feel better.

Detox fell thru, no facility would take him as not a medical emergency. Family will try to get him in again tomorrow.

Just rescued a Native Bird with a busted wing and safely handed the little critter over to the local vets.
Knowing/having a freind who has their own 'Butterfly net' is always a good thing.
Not at work.

Up at 2 am because sleeping is difficult because I have a cold. So I'm watching a little football before I go back to bed.

Vicks vapor rub, sleep upright and imagine everyone naked. If that doesn't work I don't know what will.

Drinking plenty of fluids, preparing for my meeting with my ILS worker, and listening to the Beastie Boys.

Just got back from my first actual working occupational therapy session since losing my fingers in 2008. Last week was only an assessment. The goal is for me to learn to do more in the kitchen by exploring adaptive equipment available and so-to-speak "adaptive techniques." I was a bit concerned that I might be making much ado about nothing, as I wasn't certain I would learn more from working with an occupational therapist that I couldn't do on my own investigating equipment and using my imagination to overcome obstacles. Thankfully, those fears were a bit exaggerated. I learned quite a few new things today, both about the equipment, and ways that I can make use of it. So I'm very glad I went this route instead of what might have been viewed as the more "independent" route of trying to figure out this stuff on my own.
