Severely mauled a 250 sqft weeded section of my yard with a gardening weapon. I need a better weapon.

Came back to the cottage after watching Dairy Heirs at Northern Sky theater. Alarmingly, it looks like this storm will involve 70 mile per hour winds.

Bidding on Ebay for a wetsuit. Off to Devon next weekend on holiday, reasonably clean sea down there and some nice beaches.
Completely wrapped up my garage wiring project - connected everything back to the panel and rechecked all the connections - including the ones I didn't touch - and found a few not quite as tight as ought be on the neutral bus, which were apparently the cause of an intermittent flicker.

All right, the last few days have been pretty eventful. Naturally, the worst of the storm missed us, but when we tried to go back down to Sturgeon Bay for laundry day, it was still raining hard enough that we decided it just wasn't a good idea.
On a lighter note, I took this pic just before noon. Darkness before noon. That really sounds like that would make a good title for a book. But at least later in the day, it was good enough that we went down to Not Licked Yet for frozen custard. And the crazy thing today was that, well, water levels have been rising. There's also a stretch of river where ducks often play. The water rose all the way to part of the parking lot, even deep enough for the ducks to comfortably swim over the parking lot. Also, speaking of ducks, we went to THE Farm in Instutute today, and last year, I picked up a goose feather and put it in my cap. After discovering Three Arrows, and specifically this video (about 20 minutes in): I got intrigued by the symbolism of the White Feather (Arrows just scratches the surface of the absurdity of the Order of the White Feather, like handing them to decorated war veterans on the way to a dinner in their honour, or even English women handing them to GERMAN NATIONALS assuming that they'd fight for England, and doesn't cover the other, multiple meanings that have been assigned to it, whether pacifism or, on the opposite end of the pacifism-war spectrum, a homage to Carlos Hathcock, the deadliest sniper in Vietnam) and decided to pick up one this year. Perhaps I'd put it on the other side as some sort of statement on the duality of man. I managed to find a goose feather and a white duck feather. They weren't within easy reach, but I managed to use the ingenious technique of finding a big stick and dragging a molted feather close to the fence so I could pick it up. Unfortunately, the duck feather is so different from the goose feather that it just looks lopsided and not achieving the desired effect. I also found an egg at Peninsula Players tonight, but that will have to wait until the iPad’s photo stream properly syncs up with the iPhone.

There are some steep hills around where I live. Homeowners have a tough time clearing the brush around their properties and are able to rent goats from some enterprising people to do that work.
